WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT – LABORATORY

 

 Valley Forge Sewer Authority, a regional wastewater facility, located in Chester County, is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join its team.   Position is full-time plus some weekends and holidays.  Individual must possess an Associate Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Environmental Science curriculum or 4 years of operational and/or lab experience may be substituted for education requirements.  Duties include:  Performing inspections, sampling, monitoring and lab analyses of waste flows. JOB DESCRIPTION :        REGULATORY COMPLIANCE OFFICER

 

 

DESCRIPTIVE SUMMARY:

This position entails performing inspections, sampling, monitoring, and laboratory analyses of waste flows (including analysis of biosolids generated at the wastewater treatment plant) to determine compliance with all applicable federal, state and local rules, regulations, permits, and orders.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

 

Work is performed under the supervision of the Lab Supervisor in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local rules, regulations, permits and orders.

 

SUPERVISION GIVEN:

None.

 

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Environmental Science curriculum.  Four (4) years of operational and/or laboratory experience may be substituted for educational requirements. 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Considerable lifting, carrying, standing and walking.  Work is performed indoors and outdoors.  Exposure to industrial and domestic wastewater.  General laboratory hazards, including exposure to chemicals, some of which may be hazardous.
